Practical

Practical information
  • Volunteers will cook for us. We will take turns waiting tables and doing daily cleaning.
  • Given the beautiful location, we will go on three one-day hikes (once waking up very early to go see the sunrise …). There will also be plenty of time for playing and relaxing, for praying and sharing. Hikes are part of the experience, but each one is free to participate or not. They won’t be difficult at all, however some may imply an elevation gain of a 1000 meters or so.
  • For the hikes, bring hiking clothes: t-shirts, shorts and long pants, sweater or fleece, warm and waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, sunglasses, hiking boots and socks, water bottle.
  • For the days of the workshop, casual wear.
  • Bring single sheets (not sleeping bags), pillowcase, towels, napkin, personal hygiene products.
  • The exact address of Villa Capriolo is: Strada Plan da Tieja 72, 39048 Selva di Val Gardena (Bolzano), Italy.
  • Villa Capriolo can be easily reached by public transport: train to Bolzano and then bus (n. 350) to «Santa Cristina – Dosses» stop; timetables are available on sad.it.
  • On the 12th of August, you can arrive in the afternoon. On the 22nd, you must leave in the morning.
  • The participation fee is €375. We try to keep the fee as low as possible. However, the fee should not be an obstacle: if you have any difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact the Director of Villa Capriolo, fr. Guido Ruta sj (ruta.g@gesuiti.it).
